About Me

Who are you? The Caterpillar wasn’t wrong in their pursuit for knowledge.

There are many ways I could label myself.

Writer. Adventurer. Corporate runaway. Believer in true love. Vagabond.

Really, they are all true to some extent. I have a strange life, or what many people like to call an exciting life. I’ve been lucky enough to travel all over the world. I don’t own a home or a car or much at all. Most of what I have can fit into a backpack. For the last few months I have lived in the same place, which is strange for me. I prefer animals to people, if given the option.

By and large, I can be found in front of my jazzy rose gold laptop writing, editing, or staring out into the middle distance where the imaginary world I have conjured exists.

I try to live this gift of a life gratefully and gracefully.

About My Writing

I write stories about the struggles we face in the relationships we have with lovers, family, friends, and, most importantly, ourselves. I’ve discovered that I enjoy writing stories about overcoming major obstacles that real people experience, whether it be mental, physical or societal. I love a story with a positive ending, even when it may not be the expected conclusion.

Last year I wrote two full length novels. The first book with 88,000 words was written in about 3 months, my first attempt at writing a novel. The second I wrote in 38 days and has 80,000 words. This year I have taught myself how to edit and put those new skills to use on my first novel Love on Wheels. Currently, I am looking for agent representation to help me share my stories with the world.

About My Travels

Travel, for me, is the spice of life. I have visited 25 of the 195 countries on this planet and I cannot wait to explore places I haven’t been. In the past few years I have had the privilege to live in and learn about countries like India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, and Thailand. These experiences have shaped the person that I am and have opened my eyes to this amazing world.

The question I get asked the most is “What is your favorite of the places you have visited?” and it is such a hard question to answer. I have left a piece of my heart in so many places. Sometimes because of the astounding beauty or amazing culture, but, more often than not, it is the people that I fall in love with. There are just so many good and wonderful people out there to meet and become friends with. I feel lucky to have friends now in many different countries and from many different walks of life.

However, if pressed for a specific answer to the question above, I would have to say Sri Lanka. This country ticks all of the boxes for me. It has incredibly friendly people, a diverse and gorgeous landscape, delicious food, and so many elephants. If you have the opportunity, please visit Sri Lanka and see for yourself!
